The Border + Layout
I created this border using products and punches (Flower Pots Border Punch & Watering Cans BMC) from the National Scrapbook Day collection, but somehow never got around to sharing it—until now! It’s the perfect fit for this week’s edition of Scrapbook Live. I’ve been wanting to share not just a border, but an entire layout, and this border allows me to do just that! The best part? This design is super versatile. The measurements should work with most edge or knockout style border punches, as well as edge, knockout, or chain style Border Maker Cartridges (BMCs). Whether you’re working with punches or BMCs, you can easily adapt this border to suit your style and preferences. I can’t wait to share the full look with you all!
The layout itself is intentionally simple, allowing the border to really shine as the focal point. I paired the more intricate border with strips of the beautiful potted plant paper from the National Scrapbook Day Accessory Paper Pack, which adds a lovely, fresh feel to the design. The subtle greenery in the paper complements the border’s more detailed look without overpowering it. For the base, I used two sheets of soft baby blue cardstock, which creates a calm, cohesive backdrop. The blue cardstock not only adds a pop of color, but it also helps the border and the patterned paper stand out. This combination creates a balanced, harmonious layout that lets each element speak for itself while still coming together as a stunning piece.
For the live demo, I will be using the new Poolside Paradise collection, including the now sold-out Bubble Scallop Border Punch and the (still available) Wave Crest Chain BMC. If you are looking to add the Bubble Scallop Border Punch to your tool collection, I have it available for sale in my inventory shop.
