Creative Memories Blog Layout for the Inspiration!
I am a total sucker for rounded corners, so this two-page layout from the Creative Memories blog has been on my must-make list ever since it debuted with the Life at the Lake collection. There’s just something about those soft, curved edges that instantly makes a page feel more relaxed and welcoming — which is a perfect match for lake days, or your feline companion’s first foray into the backyard!
What really drew me to this design is the way it mixes photo sizes so effortlessly. The smaller photos tucked into the squares give the layout so much personality, and with a little creative placement (and a few peekaboo pockets ?), you can actually work in more than one photo in the main focal area without it feeling crowded. It’s a great way to tell a fuller story without losing that clean, balanced look.
The original layout uses the Rectangle Custom Cutting System Patterns to create the square photo mats, but you don’t have to own that specific pattern to get the same vibe. You can simply trim your pieces to squares first and then use the Corner Rounder to soften the edges and recreate that rounded-corner look. It’s a simple tweak that makes a big visual difference and keeps the layout feeling cohesive.
If you love layouts that feel polished but not fussy — and that give you flexibility to play with photo placement — this one is absolutely worth adding to your project list. It’s one of those designs that works just as well for a summer album as it does for everyday memories, which makes it a keeper in my book.
