From Summer Fun to Sweet Nothings
The Electric Summer collection from 2020 remains one of my all-time favorite summer releases from Creative Memories. The bright, bold colors paired with the high-energy decorative elements perfectly capture the feeling of long, sunny days—especially those spent watching Cody play in the backyard. There’s a playful vibrancy to this collection that feels effortless and joyful, making it a standout even years later.
This September 2020 CM Blog Project does a fantastic job showcasing the overall vibe of the collection, but what I love most is how versatile the design itself is. The layout structure translates beautifully beyond summer themes, making it a great creative blueprint to revisit with a wide variety of collections and photo stories. In keeping with the timing of this edition of Scrapbook Live landing on Valentine’s Day, I’ll be using the newer Sweet on You collection for the demo—showing just how easily this design can shift from sunny summer energy to a fun, love-filled theme.
2026 Update: This design uses the now retired 12-inch Decorative Trimmer but could be replicated with the new CCS Border Cutting Tools.
