The Layout

Circle Punches are a delightful tool that Creative Memories periodically releases into the lineup. The most recent one, Sunshine Mandala Circle Punch, released as part of a May promotion while I was in the final stages of moving from the Seattle area to Phoenix. So, that means I while I do have the punch, but I haven’t had a chance to play with it! I thought this layout from December 2020 would be the perfect design to use – plenty of opportunity to practice punching with the circle punch and a simple, but pleasing design!

For my demo layout I ended up showing three different ways to make the layout depending on the tools you have available, or the tools you want to use.

Creative Memories Circle Punch

The first demo shows how to do the layout similar to how the blog suggests – using one of the Creative Memories Sunshine Mandala Circle Punch. Creative Memories doesn’t release Circle Punches that often, so if you don’t have one, don’t worry! Below are other alternatives.

Base paper – This Life Krafted Rainbow; Mandalas – Summer Break, Canary Cardstock, Fruit Cocktail Dual Sided Cardstock

Creative Memories Frame Punch

The next variation I showed uses the Damask Flourish Frame Punch, which is one of MANY frame punches Creative Memories has released. Just like the circle punch variation above, we start with a 6×6″ square piece of paper and use the frame punch to punch all four sides of the paper.

Made with the Devotion Collection (retired), Bronze Shimmer Cardstock and Brown Shimmer Paper

Custom Cutting System

You can also create this layout using the Creative Memories Custom Cutting System Shape Patterns. I used the Circle Patterns for this version, but you can experiment with other shapes that fit your theme!

Base Paper – This Life Krafted Rainbow; Circles – Dual Tone Cardstock in various colors; Mat – School Dayz Collection
