The Project
Last summer, Noreen with Creative Memories shared a cut guide for the 6-3/4 x 10″ Happy Album size scrapbook. I adore the Happy Album size but find that most of what I need to scrapbook is 12×12, so I created a cut guide for 12×12 papers that will create seven 2-page layouts that mimic the designs shared in the CM Handout. These page designs are simple, but effective, and include suggested photo sizes and placement that you can adjust to fit your needs. There is plenty of room to add additional details such as borders, embellishment clusters and journaling boxes. If you need to add more photos, consider using Peekaboo pockets!
I recently returned from a whirlwind 3-day trip to San Diego with my husband and 9-year-old. We spent on day at the San Diego Zoo, the second day visiting the maritime attractions on the waterfront and then the final day at the San Diego Safari Park. The pages I will be creating this week will be used for the morning portion of our second day when we visited the Maritime Museum including a tour of San Diego Bay. We toured several historical ships, and I have SO many photos, I am pretty sure I will fill up all seven pages! I will be using the Seaside Designer Paper Pack (retired) for this along with additional cardstock and tonal papers.
Class normally runs 45-60 minutes, but this session might take a bit longer. The goal for this class is to make the basic backgrounds and then the next session (not necessarily next week!) will focus on adding photos and decorative details to pull it all together.
Supplies
- 7 double sided papers – you may want to start with 10 or so to choose from. I will talk about paper choices at the beginning of class.
- 14 sheets of cardstock/tonal paper/base album pages – The cut guide shows you how to cut the 7 papers to create the background designs on the pages, but you need to have something to be the actual base pages.
