The Sketch
Sketch #1 of Creative Memories’ February 2022 Virtual Crop is a single page layout featuring two 5×7 photos with double mats. There is a banner detail with the title bar and additional blocks that can be used for journaling, embellishment clusters or add a third photo. You can see the original sketch for this layout on the Creative Memories Blog and I’ve added the sketch illustration with measurements below.
My Version
I used the (now retired) Party Time collection for these photos of my son’s 16th birthday. You can see the sketch provided the base inspiration for the layout, but I changed up a few things based on the supplies I was using. I did not use 5×7 photos but made sure to give them a bold mat treatment so they would feel substantial on the page. I added thin strips of paper to create a border around the entire layout as I felt the darker outer edges felt more polished. I trimmed the title from a variety mat and used the (retired) Banner Punch to make flags to surround the title.
