Did you order 2024 Secret Box #3? I just ADORE the colors of the Retro Vibes decorative collection, but we all know that the Paisley Border Punch is the star of the show. One of the first questions I have when getting a new border punch is “Will it go in the round with the Jumbo Circle?”
Well, the answer to that is a resounding YES!
The Technique
The video gives the full details on how to punch in the round, but for those of you who have used this technique with other border punches, the details are all the same. Center your Jumbo Circle on a piece of 12×12 paper and use the Red CCS Blade on the outside track. Mark the circle every 30° and then center the punch on the lines and punch once at each pencil/pen mark. You will need to do a bit of fussy cutting to clean up the paisley ring, but the results are worth it!
When I started the video, I only had a vague idea of how I wanted to finish the layout. I thought I would use just the colors of the decorative paper, but when I went to select embellishments to pair with the paper, I decided the butterfly was too cute to pass up and loved that the body of the butterfly brought in the gorgeous dark teal color. So, I grabbed some Dark Sea Green cardstock and worked it into the Mirrored Scallops border and also used it for mats.
