The Borders

In this week’s Scrapbook Live, I will be teaching how to create three beautiful scrapbook borders featured on the Creative Memories Blog — each one inspired by a different region of the U.S. and created with the stunning new Scenic Bundles papers and border punches!

Krislyn did an amazing job creating these borders and I fell in love with how they capture the essence of different landscapes. Even more special — the three scenes reflect places I’ve personally lived! I was born and raised* in the tall grass prairies of Iowa, spending nearly a decade within miles of the coastal waters in the Pacific Northwest and now back in the heart of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona.

For this demo, I’m planning to feature the new Whale Tail and Cacti Border Punches — two fun and detailed tools that perfectly complement the Pacific Northwest and Desert-themed borders. They add so much personality and movement to the designs! As for the Iowa-inspired border, I might take a slightly different approach. I grew up in a small town just outside of Des Moines, and while Iowa is certainly known for its farms, chicken coops weren’t really part of my daily life. So, I may swap in a different punch or accent that feels more personally reflective of my experience growing up in the heartland. Either way, it will be fun to put a slightly personal twist on these beautiful blog designs!

*I was figuratively, not literally, born & raised in the tall grass prairie.
