A WOW Factor Layout with Noteworthy Days
This week’s Scrapbook Live features a layout design from the Creative Memories Blog—and let me tell you, it’s a definite WOW factor page. The original design surrounds your photos with layers of coordinating papers and decorative accents, making your images the star of the show.
What I love about this style is that it can go two different directions. If you want to pull out all the stops, use bold colors, striking patterns, and a mix of embellishments to create a dramatic look. But if you prefer something a little more subtle, you can absolutely dial it back with a tonal approach. Choosing papers in similar shades or softer patterns will give the page a more understated, elegant feel while still keeping the photos front and center.
From Single Page to Double Page
The CM Blog version of this project is a single-page layout, but I know many scrapbookers (myself included!) often need more room for photos. That’s why during this week’s demo, I’ll show you how to expand the design into a companion page. By mirroring or adjusting the elements, you’ll create a coordinated two-page spread that flows beautifully across your album.
This tweak gives you the flexibility to highlight extra photos while still keeping the original “wow factor” design intact. It’s a great reminder that CM Blog projects can serve as a springboard—you can always adapt them to fit your own memory-keeping needs.
Featuring the Noteworthy Days Collection
For my demo, I’ll be using the Noteworthy Days collection. This collection is one of my favorites for album projects because of its versatility. It’s filled with patterns and accents that work for everyday memories, seasonal highlights, or month-to-month storytelling.
I’ll be creating a layout for my 2025 Monthly Album (yes, I’m a little behind on that project!). The Noteworthy Days papers and mats are perfect for pulling together photos and moments that don’t necessarily have a single theme but still deserve a special place in my scrapbook.
Why You’ll Love This Layout
- Customizable look – Go bold with high-contrast patterns or keep it soft and tonal.
- Adaptable design – Works as a single page or can easily expand into a two-page spread.
- Collection-friendly – Ideal for using coordinating collections like Noteworthy Days, but flexible enough to pair with any CM line.
- Photo-focused – The page design frames your images beautifully, ensuring they remain the highlight of your album.
I can’t wait to share this project with you live. Whether you’re building a standout feature page for your album or looking for a layout you can adapt again and again, this one is sure to become a favorite.
