The Layout
Do you have a layout to-do list? I definitely do, and this scrapbook project from the CM Blog has been sitting on mine for quite a while. I absolutely love Creative Memories’ Jumbo Custom Cutting System Patterns, so when the Wavy Square Jumbo Pattern returned in September 2023, I was beyond excited to finally put it to use. (2026 update: this pattern is now sold out and retired.)
IIf you don’t have the Wavy Square Jumbo Pattern, there were a few alternative ways to achieve a similar look. At the time, the 12-inch Decorative Trimmer offered another option, though the finished result had a noticeably different feel. I demonstrated both approaches during Scrapbook Live so you could see the differences side by side.
Important update: both the Wavy Square Jumbo Pattern and the 12-inch Decorative Trimmer are now sold out. The good news is that the newer CCS Border Cutting Tools are a fantastic option for creating fun, funky frames and decorative edges with just as much personality. I’ll link a 2025 Scrapbook Live episode here where I share tips and tricks for getting the most out of the Border Cutting Tools and show how versatile they can be in real layouts.
If you’re working from your stash or adapting older layout ideas with current tools, this is a great example of how to keep a design concept alive—even when the original products are no longer available.
