The Layout
January is just flying by! I was so sure this Friday was the last one of the month—which usually means it’s time for a fun border project. But after checking the calendar, I realized we still have one more Friday to go! So, as a little creative compromise, I decided to share a layout instead—this one from the Creative Memories Blog features playful ticket-inspired border accents that I think you’ll love. Bonus: they’re made from scraps!
? Tip: To get the full ticket effect, you’ll want to have a 1/4″ hole punch and the Stamping Blade on hand.
For my version of the layout, I used the retired Sweater Weather papers from a past summer promo and paired them with Bright White cardstock as the base. I wanted to keep the overall look light and fresh, and I talk more about my paper choices and tips in the video—so be sure to tune in!
While the original layout highlights the charming Noteworthy Days embellishments, I opted to fill that space with extra photos from a school event. To respect the students’ privacy, I’ve placed mats instead of actual photos in my sample. The photo sizes used are:
? (2) 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
? (2) 6″ x 3-3/4″
For the title, I combined two of my favorite font options—one from a retired metal die set by Close to My Heart and the brown Script ABC/123 Stickers from Creative Memories (also retired). I love mixing textures and styles for a custom title look!
