Scrapbook Live: Jumbo Circle Frame with Paper Strips

Jumbo Circle Layout Tutorial

If you’ve been looking for a fun way to use the Creative Memories Jumbo Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern, this project is perfect! I’ve had several customers order the Jumbo Circle recently, so I thought it was the right time to share another layout that puts this tool to work. This design is easy, beginner-friendly, and a fantastic way to use up leftover paper scraps from other projects.

The concept is simple: you’ll cut strips of designer paper and layer them across the center of your base page. Then, cut a large circle from cardstock using the Jumbo Circle Pattern and place it on top to create a bold frame effect. The circle pulls the eye toward your photos while the layered paper strips add color and texture.

Why You’ll Love This Layout

  • Uses up scraps – Perfect for leftover designer paper, cardstock strips, or borders.
  • Works with any collection – Swap out papers to fit birthdays, holidays, travel, or everyday photos.
  • Showcases tools – Try border punches, decorative trimmer blades, laser-cut borders, or stickers on your paper strips.

This layout is a great reminder that sometimes the simplest techniques can create the most eye-catching pages.

My Sample Layout: Party Time Collection

For my sample, I used the (retired) Creative Memories Party Time Collection. The bright colors and playful patterns were perfect for birthday photos, but you could just as easily adapt this idea with a seasonal collection or even tone-on-tone cardstock for a more subtle look.

Try This Jumbo Circle Layout Yourself

If you have the Creative Memories Jumbo Circle Pattern in your stash, give this layout a try at your next crop. Play around with different widths of paper strips and add embellishments around the circle for extra detail.
