I will be going LIVE on my Facebook page at 12:00 pm PT on Friday, February 14, 2025. If you can’t join me for the FB Live, the recording will be available to watch later on Facebook or you can find it on my YouTube Channel. The Sketch

It’s time to get Sketchy!! This weekend is Creative Memories’ February Virtual Crop, and I LOVED working on sketches from the December and January Virtual Crops as part special Saturday morning editions of Scrapbook Live. Unfortunately, this Saturday, Cody’s first game starts at 10am leaving no time for cropping! Be still my heart!

For the past several months I’ve been working with photos from our four-day San Diego trip in October. Last night I sat down on the living room floor to organize the pages and determine which photos I’ve yet to create layouts and make a note of what needs to be completed. Rather than find a project in the CM Blog archives for this week’s Scrapbook Live, I decided to draw up a sketch that I’ve had in my mind for a few weeks. I am still in my “angle era”, and I thought this design would work well for a layout of photos from the USS Midway tour. The directions in the handout below detail how to create the page where the entire base page is covered with designer paper, however I will be using a white base page and letting part of that show through in lieu of using the A2 and B2 triangles.

You will need a couple of specialty tools to make this designer easier. They are tools that I’ve used before as part of Scrapbook Live, so hopefully you are inspired to invest in them if you haven’t already. I find that the 18″ Ruler and Handheld Rotary Trimmer are extremely useful tools when you need to create longer cuts on an angle!
