Creative fun with Creative Memories’ Dies & Embossing Folders
This week on Scrapbook Live, we’re pulling out the dies and embossing folders for a little creative fun! I found a wonderful layout on the Creative Memories blog that features the Autumn Abundance collection, and I immediately started thinking about how much fun it would be to recreate it with my Christmas dies!
The original project combines embossed shimmer paper, decorative die-cuts, and a variety of photo sizes to create a layout filled with texture and dimension. It’s a great example of how a few simple techniques can add so much visual interest to a scrapbook page.
Need Tips/Tricks on how to use the Die Cut & Embossing Machine? I have a handout for that!
One Layout, So Many Possibilities!
While the original design has a beautiful autumn theme, I’m going to give it a Christmas makeover! And that’s one of the things I love most about this project. It could work for just about ANY season, holiday, or special moment!
In fact, wouldn’t it be fun to create several versions of this layout and swap them out in a 12×12 frame throughout the year? Imagine a cheerful spring layout, a patriotic summer design, something festive for Halloween, and a Christmas version to finish out the year.
It’s a fun way to enjoy your scrapbook creations beyond the pages of an album!
Let’s Play With Dies and Embossing Folders
During this week’s episode, we’ll explore how to use the Creative Memories Die-Cutting & Embossing System to add texture and decorative details to our layouts.
We’ll be working with:
- Embossing folders to create beautiful texture on paper.
- Decorative dies to create titles, accents, and embellishments.
- Shimmer paper to add a little extra sparkle and dimension.
The original project uses the Scattered Leaves and Diamond Plaid Embossing Folders along with autumn-themed dies. I’ll be pulling out my Christmas dies to see how we can give this design a completely different look!
