Hello Sunshine!
Have you seen the brand-new Sunlit Border Punch from Creative Memories yet?! Because friends — this one is SPECIAL.
The Sunlit Border Punch is part of the gorgeous new Chasing the Sun collection, and I am OBSESSED. But here’s the thing — this punch has a trick up its sleeve that I cannot WAIT to show you on this Friday’s Scrapbook Live. When you punch and stack the borders, you get an extra-wide decorative border with a FULL SUN right in the middle. You can also fold and punch lighter weight papers to get the full sun motif and that is the technique I will be sharing for this episode. Whether you stack, or fold and punch, the results are absolutely stunning.
The layout I’m sharing this Friday uses the Chasing the Sun collection, and honestly? It is a fun design that really lets this border be the star. Simple, striking, and SO satisfying to make.
Here’s what makes this technique extra exciting:
The Sunlit Border Punch is brand new — just released this month! — so this is a great chance to see it in action and learn how to get the MOST out of it right from the start. The stacking technique is something you’ll want to know about before you even open the punch for the first time.
One important note: the fold-and-punch technique works with shimmer paper or lighter-weight designer paper — we’ll be using the gold shimmer paper for this, and it is perfect! If cardstock is all you have on hand, don’t worry — we’ll talk through your options during the live!
Here’s what we’ll cover:
- How to fold and punch the Sunlit Border Punch to reveal the full sun detail
- Using pumpkin cardstock with your Circle Punch to complete the design
- Layout tips using the Chasing the Sun collection
